Introducing Our World: A Journey through First Media's New Illustrated Map

Step into our world and become a part of the journey! At First Media, we're thrilled to unveil our latest marketing masterpiece: Our World, illustrated as a fun map. What better way to showcase our clients, the topics we cover, and the sectors we work in?  Join us as we explore the inspiration behind it and the process that brought it to life.

After each Learning Technologies and World of Learning event we attend, our team gathers to reflect on our successes, what caught people's attention, and areas where we can improve. Just like in any organisation’s L&D process, this evaluation led us to evaluate the effectiveness of our handouts. While our traditional printed brochures effectively communicated our range of learning solutions, development processes, and client case studies, they lacked a fundamental element – a reflection of what makes us truly unique!

At the heart of our eLearning, lies a team of creative minds who constantly push boundaries and think outside the box. Their imaginative flair, artistic approach, and innovative thinking drive our design-led learning solutions. We wanted our handouts to mirror this essence.

With a clear vision of the key information we wanted to convey, our designer, Nathan Boon, skilfully brought it to life using Adobe Illustrator. The design concept aimed to strike a balance between readability and a whimsical aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the glamorous Art Deco movement of the 1920s. The essence of this era permeates the construction, colour scheme, and style of the design. Notably, it incorporates elements reminiscent of the iconic French designer A.M. Cassandre, an early pioneer of the world of Graphic Design. Each isometric element was carefully crafted and coloured, then seamlessly integrated into digestible sections. Fun fact, there’s over 2000 layers and 136.000 anchor points! Starting at the centre, we established our offices. First Media is based in Louth, Lincolnshire, which is a small market town rich in heritage. Louth is renowned for St James’ Church, boasting a 295ft spire thought to be the highest in the country! We've incorporated specific details for our clients, ranging from Amazon packing robots to an ITV Studio and even a crime scene for Forensic Access.  The result? A visually captivating map reminiscent of the beloved "Where's Wally?" adventures.

Our First Media World Map is more than just a visual representation of our offerings – it's a journey through our learning solutions, tools, clients, sectors, and topics. We invite you to explore our world and uncover hidden surprises along the way. If you’ve worked with us before, can you spot your addition?
