Digital courses for land-based learning
The challenge
Agricultural training and education experts Landex wanted us to produce eLearning to support the delivery of their Horticulture and Veterinary Medicine courses across the country.
They required 17 individual modules producing in total, on a series of topics associated with Horticulture and Veterinary Medicine.
They also wanted the learning to be designed and structured in a way in which it appealed to all their students – an audience that stretches from teenagers through to mature adults.
Our solution
We wanted to bring the subject matter to life, so we included a lot of custom video. This was the right thing to do on this project, as video allows the user to get up close and personal with the types of flowers and animals they are learning about.
We also made the flowers and animals mentioned in the learning material central to the visuals of the courses by using real-life images. In the absence of any brand guidelines, we developed a bright, vibrant and modern identity for Landex which was used across all 17 modules.
Also, as to make the academic learning material feel more palatable, we broke the content up into bite-sized chunks that include interactive activities that counts towards the assessment.
"First Media did an excellent job for Landex developing flexible learning materials. They were highly responsive and very easy to work with. All our required deadlines were hit and the quality of work exceeded our expectations." Steven Porter, Director of Development
