See you at World of Learning 2026
We’re heading to World of Learning at the NEC Birmingham on 6–7 October, and this year we’re bringing a little bit of the 90s with us.
Why the 90s? Because that’s where it all started for First Media.
Long before 'digital learning' became the term everyone uses today, we were already creating it. Back then, everything had to be thought through, designed from the ground up and built with purpose. There were no shortcuts, no ready-made templates and certainly no AI to lean on.
What that gave us was a way of thinking that’s stuck ever since.
Start with people. Understand the world they work in, the challenges they face and what you actually want them to do differently.
The technology has changed enormously. That mindset hasn’t.
Come and see us at stand D100

You’ll find the First Media team at Stand D100 at World of Learning, NEC Birmingham, on 6–7 October 2026.
We’ll be sharing some of the work we’ve been creating over the past year – from bespoke eLearning and scenario-led experiences to video, animation and new approaches using AI.
It’s a chance to see how we’re combining learning design, creativity and technology to create experiences that feel more real, relevant and engaging.
If you’re looking at how to improve engagement, make learning more memorable or simply want to see what’s possible beyond another standard eLearning module, come and have a chat.
From the 90s to now
The tools have changed a lot since the 90s. The thinking behind great learning hasn’t.
It still starts with understanding people. Their world. Their challenges. And what the learning needs to help them do differently.
What has changed is what we can create from that thinking.
We can build richer stories, immersive scenarios and experiences that combine video, animation, interaction and real-world decision-making. Ideas that would once have been difficult or expensive to realise can now be brought to life in completely different ways.
And, of course, AI is changing things again.
It can make content quicker to create, easier to adapt and simpler to scale. That’s a huge opportunity.
But as creating content becomes easier, there’s also a risk that more of it starts to look and feel the same.
That makes creativity, authenticity and human insight even more important.
Not as an alternative to AI, but as the thing that gives learning its personality, relevance and edge.
Same creative roots. Bigger, bolder possibilities.
Meet the team

We’ve also been digging through the archives.
On the stand you’ll find photos of the First Media team from the 90s. Some are brilliant. Some are questionable. And some feature fashion choices we’d probably rather forget.
See if you can match the 90s photos to the people standing in front of you today.
It’s a bit of fun, but it also tells part of our story.
We’ve been designing digital experiences for more than 25 years. The technology keeps changing, but our belief in great ideas, creativity and putting people first hasn’t.
Let’s Connect
We’re looking forward to catching up with clients, partners and learning professionals at World of Learning 2026.
